Installing a split air conditioner in 2026 costs between 220 and 300 € in labour, with up to 3 metres of line, and between 550 and 1,500 € with the unit included, according to published averages for Spain. A 2x1 or 3x1 multi-split comes to 350-900 € for fitting. These are market prices, not our rates.
Air conditioning always breaks down in the same week: the first heatwave, when everyone calls at once. If yours barely cools, drips inside or has started making a new noise, write to us with the unit's model and we'll send back a fixed price in writing, usually in under 2 hours. And if you want a new one fitted, ask in May, not August: in high season air conditioning diaries run weeks behind.
The person who climbs up your building's front wall is an independent professional who works with us. We set the price and the day, and we answer for it if something goes wrong.

What air conditioning jobs we organise
Almost everything that happens to a home unit falls into a few boxes.
- Installation: Wall-mounted split, 2x1 or 3x1 multi-split with a single outdoor unit, and replacing an old unit while reusing what's already installed. Here the price isn't set by the machine: it's set by the metres between the two units, the route the pipe takes (built into the wall, along the front of the building, through a light well) and how the outdoor unit can be reached and mounted. A third-floor flat with a terrace at the same level has nothing in common with a penthouse with no access. And if the unit needs its own circuit from the fuse box (cuadro eléctrico), that's done by an electrician and goes on the same quote.
- Cleaning and maintenance: Filters, fan, coil, condensate tray and drain. It's what stops that musty smell the first time you switch it on in June, and half the drips that appear right above the sofa. What a service includes and what it costs on the market is in how much air conditioning maintenance costs.
- Faults: It doesn't cool, drips inside, makes a new noise, switches itself off, the remote shows an error code. First it gets looked at, then you're told what it costs. If the unit won't even start, the air conditioning won't turn on test lets you rule out the remote and the circuit breaker (magnetotérmico) before you call.
- Gas: Leak detection, vacuum and recharge of R32 or R410A. This has its own rules and is covered in the section below.
And the small stuff, which gets asked for more than you'd think: replacing the rusty bracket of the outdoor unit, extending the drain that has been dripping into the neighbour's patio for years, fitting a condensate pump where there's no fall.
Not just anyone can handle the gas, and it's not us being fussy
Worth knowing even if you don't end up calling us.
Handling refrigerant in Spain requires a personal certificate for handling fluorinated gases (F-gas). It's regulated by Royal Decree 115/2017 (Real Decreto), and the Ministry for the Ecological Transition itself publishes the certificate categories and what each one allows. It isn't just paperwork: the gas has to be recovered with equipment, it can't be released into the atmosphere, and pulling a proper vacuum is what separates an installation that lasts ten years from one that loses its charge in two summers.
Our rule, in one line: a gas recharge, or any work that opens the circuit, we only organise with a professional who holds that certificate. If at that moment nobody with that profile is free in your area, we tell you and that's that. We'd rather lose the job than send you someone with a gas bottle and good intentions.
And a tip that really saves money: a split that barely cools hardly ever needs gas. Gas doesn't get used up over time. If it's low, there's a leak, and recharging without finding it means paying twice, because in a month you're back where you are now.
How much does it cost to install air conditioning in Valencia?

A 2x1 or 3x1 multi-split is 350-900 € just for fitting, and a standard service of a home split, 80-120 € according to HogarConfort.

Rough 2026 market ranges. These are not our rates: we give you the fixed price in writing before work starts.
If it's just the gas, what a recharge costs and why it's hardly ever the first thing to do is in how much it costs to recharge air conditioning gas. And if the unit drips inside, the “my air conditioner is dripping water” test tells you in two minutes whether it's the drain or something more serious. The full picture, with the unit, the line and the extras that add up, is in how much it costs to install air conditioning.
The recharge also depends on the refrigerant, which is why two invoices can look so different: the tax on fluorinated gases is calculated on each gas's global warming potential, and the R410A in an older unit is taxed about three times more per kilo than the R32 in a new one.
We're not trying to be the cheapest on the list. Our aim is that the figure we give you before work starts is exactly the figure you pay at the end.
How it works, step by step
- Tell us about it. Through the quote form or on WhatsApp. If you can, send three photos: the indoor unit, the spot where the outdoor one would go, and the sticker with the brand and model.
- You get the fixed price. In writing, with what's included and what isn't. It costs nothing, doesn't tie you to anything and you usually have it in under 2 hours.
- We agree the day and time, and you know who's coming. Name and phone number before they knock on your door, not a “someone will come by in the morning”.
- It gets done, you check it and you pay. Cash, Bizum (Spain's instant bank-transfer app) or bank transfer, once it's finished. If something turns up that couldn't be seen in the photos, you get a new proposal and you decide. Nobody raises the price on their own.
There's no on-call phone at three in the morning here, and we won't sell it to you as if there were. In July and August air conditioning diaries fill up; we move urgent jobs first and, if one day we can't make it, we tell you plainly instead of keeping you waiting for someone who isn't going to turn up.
Areas we cover
Valencia city and the surrounding towns of l'Horta: Mislata, Burjassot, Paterna, Quart de Poblet, Manises, Aldaia, Alaquàs, Xirivella, Torrent, Picanya, Paiporta, Catarroja, Alfafar, Benetússer, Sedaví, Massanassa, Alboraia and Tavernes Blanques. Outside that, ask: we'll answer the same day whether we cover it or not.
With air conditioning, access matters more than the neighbourhood: hanging the outdoor unit in a narrow light well in the city centre is nothing like leaving it on the terrace of a ground-floor flat in Catarroja, and that weighs more on the figure than the brand of the unit.
A point about the owners' association (comunidad de vecinos) that always gets forgotten: in many buildings you have to give notice or ask permission before hanging the outdoor unit on the front wall or in the inner courtyard. Better to sort that out before the unit is bought and sitting in the living room.
Why we agree the price before work starts
Because the time to argue about a price isn't with the unit taken apart and the floor covered in plastic sheeting.
With air conditioning the figure moves on its own very easily: extra metres of pipe, a couple of holes drilled, brackets, a condensate pump that “was needed”. We put it in writing first: what gets done, what's included and what isn't. If something else comes up, nobody improvises; you get a new proposal and you accept or reject it.
And if something isn't right, you tell us. We don't send you off to argue it out with anyone.
Ask for a quote for your air conditioning. With three photos, you get the figure today.
